A spokesperson for Jordan, told the British broadsheet newspaper: "Eddie Jordan has been quite involved with Bernie Ecclestone in looking at ways of promoting Formula 1.

"We've been in discussions for quite some time and hope to make it happen next year."

The programme, yet to be named, will be developed by media company, SlaterHerd and follows hot on the heels of similar talk that BAR-Honda might do such a stunt, to decide who will partner Jenson Button in 2004.

Whether either project will come to fruition remains to be seen, however there is no doubt many would question the feasibility - not least the winner being granted a super licence to race.
