Regarded throughout F1 as one of the natural successors to multiple-World champion Michael Schumacher, Alonso has already won two Grand's Prix this year with victories in Malaysia and Bahrain. Along with a third place finish in the season-opening event in Australia, Alonso currently leads the F1 standings on 26 points - 10 points ahead of former Renault team-mate, second-placed Jarno Trulli.
Speaking on the confirmation of his attendance at Goodwood, Alonso said: "I am delighted to be appearing at the world-famous Goodwood Festival of Speed with the Renault F1 Team and I am greatly looking forward to giving the crowds a close-up view of the R24 in action.
"Goodwood is huge in world motorsport and it's an honour to be able to represent Renault at such a prestigious celebration.
"It will be a fantastic occasion and I can't wait to drive the R24. Everybody says Goodwood is an unmissable event if you love racing, so I can't wait to experience it for the first time!"
