Weather report - San Marino Grand Prix.

Each of the last two rounds of the Formula One world championship has been touted as the hottest grand prix in history - something that is unlikely to be the case this weekend.

Although Italy in the spring is not an unpleasant place to be, Mark Webber hit the nail on the head when he revealed that the weather can be unpredictable at this time of year - and this weekend looks like being no exception.

Friday
Mostly clear, sunny conditions expected today, as high pressure builds across the region. Some patchy cloud early and late. Feeling mild in light breezes, with temperatures peaking at 16C / 61F. Zero per cent risk of precipitation.

Saturday
Another decent day in prospect, with high pressure clinging on. Perhaps not the clear skies of Friday, but still a good deal of sunshine throughout. The best of any sunny intervals expected in the morning. Cloud will be thickening by the hour, and it could turn rather grey towards the end of the afternoon. This marks the arrival of more unsettled conditions, perhaps affecting Sunday's race. Temperatures peaking at 18C / 64F. Twenty per cent risk of precipitation.

Sunday
A very different day ahead. Mostly cloudy skies, although good chance of a drier morning. By late morning or midday, the first splashes of light, fragmented rainfall should arrive. Into the afternoon, this rainfall could become more widespread, heavier and persistent. A fair chance of rain affecting the race itself. Winds really strengthening, becoming moderate and gusty. Temperatures peaking at 14C / 56F. Seventy per cent risk of precipitation.
