Marques set for surprise return?

He hasn't been top of the list on any of the F1 rumour mills during the off-season, but Brazilian driver Tarso Marques has revealed that he could be set for return to the Formula One paddock in 2006.

Marques, who took part in 26 Grand Prix for the Minardi team between 1996 and 2001, told the Brazilian Formulanews website that he was expecting to put pen to paper with an F1 team soon, although he was unable to reveal who that team is.

"I am waiting to announce a Formula 1 contract still this week," he said. "I would test for them in 2006 and race in 2007."
