Red Bull run 2006 car at Silverstone.

Red Bull Racing's 2006 car - the Ferrari-powered RB2, turned a wheel for the first time Thursday, when it completed day one of a two-day test at Silverstone, with team leader, David Coulthard at the wheel.

Coulthard completed a 'limited number of laps' on the 5.141 kilometre track, as the team carried out a series of 'system checks' on its new package ahead of its official launch in March.

Although the test was not the first for the Ferrari V8 engine, which has already completed a number of kilometres, it was the first for the Red Bull-Ferrari combination.

"The Red Bull Racing and Ferrari technicians worked closely together throughout the day, demonstrating the positive relationship that has developed between the two marques over the last few months," read a statement from the Milton Keynes based operation.

Technical details of the car will not be released until its official launch on March 9 in Bahrain.
