Mondini returns for eighth go in third Midland.
Giorgio Mondini will be back in action for Midland MF1 Racing at the Turkish Grand Prix this weekend, the Swiss driver once again getting the nod to drive the third car in Friday practice.
Mondini was last in the third car at the US Grand Prix, before Adrian Sutil did the event at Magny-Cours and Markus Winkelhock the two at Hockenheim and the Hungaroring. Thus far this season they have shared the third M16, although Mondini has done more events than most - and this will in fact be his eighth outing in total, Sutil having done two and Winkelhock four.

Speaking in the countdown he added that he can't wait to get out in the car again, even if he will have to learn the track: "It will be good to get back in the car, as I haven't filled the Friday driver role since Indianapolis," said Mondini.
"Istanbul is a new track, so I won't feel too disadvantaged having to learn the circuit. There are some technical sections and a variety of gradients to handle, but I feel I am up to the challenge. The team still has a lot to learn about the set-up required there, so the Friday role will be as important as ever. As usual, I'm really looking for to it."
Midland MF1 chief race and test engineer, Dominic Harlow meanwhile reckons that the track will have evolved since '05: "The surface of the track in Istanbul is very smooth, but can be expected to have evolved from last year, when it was quite low in grip and very hard on the outside front tyres," he confirmed. "Our set-up will concentrate mainly on platform stability and we will target a lower downforce level than normal - closer to what we used in the Canadian and US events than the last race in Hungary."
