Spyker set launch date, reveal test plans.

The Spyker F1 team has confirmed that it will launch its new car early next month, with the unveiling taking place near its factory, at Silverstone, in the UK on February 5.

The launch will be a 'static affair', with running scheduled to take place on the two days following, with an exclusive test at Silverstone from February 6-7. The team had planned to shakedown the new car this week but that will now not happen.

The cars designation for 2007 has still be announced, but team boss, Colin Kolles will no doubt save that for the launch day, when he is expected to be in attendance along with Spyker F1's two race drivers, Christijan Albers and Adrian Sutil.

Following the launch and shakedown, the team are currently due to conduct nine days of testing, prior to the new season, which gets underway on March 18 with the Australian Grand Prix. Two tests will take place at Barcelona, from February 12-14 and February 27-March 1, broken up with another three-day run from February 19-21, but at Valencia.

This week meanwhile there will be three new car launches, with Renault, Honda and Red Bull Racing all showing off their cars, on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday respectively. Thus far four launches have taken place, namely Toyota, Ferrari, McLaren and BMW Sauber. Williams are due to launch at the end of next week, on Friday February 2, four days prior to Spyker, while the plans for Scuderia Toro Rosso and Super Aguri have yet to be made public.
