Hugo Boss set to end F1 sponsorship for Formula E move
German fashion house Hugo Boss is set to end its 30-year-plus stint in Formula 1 and turn its focus to sponsorship in Formula E next year.
Hugo Boss first entered F1 in 1981 with McLaren, enjoying a relationship that lasted until 2015 when it began a new partnership with Mercedes, whom it currently sponsors and produces team wear for.
However, Hugo Boss' agreement with Mercedes is set to end next year ahead of a move into Formula E, as revealed by CEO Mark Langer in an interview with German magazine Focus.

However, Hugo Boss' agreement with Mercedes is set to end next year ahead of a move into Formula E, as revealed by CEO Mark Langer in an interview with German magazine Focus.
"Of course Formula One is the top class of motor racing, but Formula E is more innovative and sustainable,” Langer said.
“The engines, the races in major cities - that is something a younger audience likes, which offers new opportunities.
“After many years in Formula One, really since Jochen Mass in the '70s, we have been thinking what is the next thing?”
Formula E is set to boast a grid featuring many of Germany's biggest car manufacturers come season six, set to start in 2019, with Porsche and Mercedes planning to join BMW and Audi, both of whom already race in the all-electric series.
