After four intriguing races to kick-start the season, Formula 1 begins the European leg of 2018 with its familiar starting point in Barcelona for the Spanish Grand Prix, following on from another crazy spectacle last time out in Azerbaijan.

Traditionally, the Spanish Grand Prix provides teams with the first opportunity to bring major upgrades in a bid to boost performance, while also revealing which teams have made progress since the season-opener in Melbourne and which still have work to do.

The Circuit de Catalunya hosted a great on-track battle between chief title rivals Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel as the duo engaged in wheel-to-wheel combat for the first time in 2017.

Hamilton came out on top to reduce his deficit to Vettel in the standings on that occasion. This year, it is the Briton who heads to Spain with a narrow four-point advantage over the Ferrari driver.
