When is the F1 Canadian Grand Prix and how can I watch it
Following Daniel Ricciardo’s dominant weekend in Monaco, Formula 1 returns this weekend after a two-week break for the seventh round of the 2018 season, the Canadian Grand Prix.
The Red Bull driver claimed his seventh victory in F1 to move level with Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel on two wins apiece from the opening six races of the year, leaving the title battle nicely poised heading to Montreal with current championship leader Hamilton and third-placed man Ricciardo split by just 38 points.

Hamilton and his Mercedes team will head into the weekend as favourites around a circuit both driver and team have dominated in recent years. Hamilton stormed to his sixth pole here last year to match idol Ayrton Senna’s tally of 65, before going on to record his sixth win in Canada.
The Briton scored his maiden F1 win in Montreal in 2007, and went on to finish on the top step of the podium at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve - famed for its long straights and heavy-braking zones - in 2010, 2012, 2015, 2016 and 2017. A fourth straight victory at the venue would see him tie Schumacher’s record of seven wins.
Hamilton heads into the weekend with a 14-point advantage over nearest rival Vettel in the drivers’ standings, though motivation will be high within Ferrari’s ranks to return to winning ways, having failed to claim a race victory since April’s Bahrain Grand Prix.
