Markelov gets debut Renault F1 practice outing in Russia
Artem Markelov will make his debut in a Formula 1 practice outing for Renault at the 2018 Russian Grand Prix.
The Renault test and development driver will contest his first outing during an F1 grand prix weekend at his home event in Sochi, taking the place of team regular Carlos Sainz.
Markelov sits fifth in the 2018 Formula 2 Championship after taking three victories with Russian Time so far this season and took part in in-season F1 testing for the Enstone squad at the Hungaroring ahead of the summer break.

“Being part of Renault Sport Formula One Team has helped me as a racing driver so to be able to put these lessons into practice in Sochi is a tremendous honour."
Renault managing director Cyril Abiteboul added: "We are happy to give Artem this opportunity behind the wheel of the Renault R.S.18 at his home Grand Prix. Artem has shown on and off track this year that he is a valuable team member.
