Stroll has been on course to join Force India ever since his father, Lawrence Stroll, led a consortium that rescued the team from administration with a financial takeover in August.
Stroll underwent a first seat fitting at Force India in the summer, but saw out the season with Williams, finishing third-from-last in the drivers' championship with just two points finishes.
The Canadian made his final F1 start for Williams on Sunday in Abu Dhabi, with Force India confirming shortly after the race that Stroll would be joining its line-up for the two-day Pirelli tyre test at the Yas Marina Circuit next week.
Stroll will test with the team on Tuesday afternoon and all of Wednesday in Abu Dhabi, taking over from Perez after the opening morning of running.
