Charles Leclerc starts from pole position for the fifth time in the 2019 F1 season as he aims to claim a third straight win for Ferrari at the Singapore Grand Prix...
The Monegasque driver narrowly outpaced world championship leader Lewis Hamilton around the 5.063km, 23-turn Marina Bay Street Circuit as Ferrari packed a big surprise by unleashing sensational pace during qualifying on Saturday.
Hamilton starts alongside Leclerc on the front-row and will be keen to make amends from his defeat at Monza and stop Leclerc and Ferrari's new-found resurgence.
Sebastian Vettel is third on the grid in the second Ferrari, with Red Bull's Max Verstappen and Valtteri Bottas completing the top five. The Finn trails Hamilton by 63 points in the drivers' standings and could be in for a tough afternoon as he looks to prevent Hamilton from extending his advantage in the title race.
A third consecutive victory for Leclerc - after out-qualifying Vettel at each of the the past eight rounds - will go a long way in further cementing his position as Ferrari's new star, with the German still enduring a 22-race streak without victory. He would pull clear of Vettel in the standings and edge himself closer to the runaway Mercedes duo.
Lights out for the 2019 F1 Singapore Grand Prix will occur at 2010 hours local time and 1310 in the United Kingdom (BST). Follow all of the action LIVE with Crash.net...
