Haas reveals revised livery for VF-21 F1 car and new title sponsor for 2021
Haas has revealed the first images of its 2021 Formula 1 car - the VF-21 - ahead of the new season, with Russian company Uralkali announced as its new title sponsors.
The American squad will be hopeful the VF-21 can muster more than the three points its predecessor scored in 2020 as the team finished ninth in the constructors’ championship beating only Williams.
The VF-21 will once again be powered by Ferrari with Haas hoping for a significant upturn in performance on the power unit side given the Scuderia's lack of engine power in 2020.
Haas is the only team to have a completely new driver line up having dropped experienced duo Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen for 2021.
Mick Schumacher - the son of seven-time champion Michael - teams up with Russian driver Nikita Mazepin, who is personally backed by new title sponsors Uralkali, to form an all-rookie pairing.
The duo raced in Formula 2 last season with Schumacher taking the title, while Mazepin finished fifth overall.
Haas is already in a compromised position going into the season with coronavirus restrictions on movement preventing the team from being able to fire up its new car until pre-season testing in Bahrain next week.
With a major change in the regulations coming for 2022, team boss Guenther Steiner has already confirmed Haas will switch 99% of its focus to next year's car almost immediately.
The VF-21 will get its first run on-track during pre-season testing in Bahrain between March 12-14.
Williams will be the ninth and penultimate team to unveil its 2021 car ahead of the new season on Friday afternoon.
It will reveal the FW43B using augmented reality, offering fans an opportunity to see it in all its glory in their own living rooms.
Ferrari will then take the covers off its SF21 challenger on 10 March, two days before pre-season testing gets underway.
