Seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton will remain with the team for 2022, partnering George Russell.
After missing out in dramatic circumstances in 2021, Hamilton will be once again eyeing a record-breaking eighth world title.
Russell makes the move up from Williams after three impressive seasons, scoring the Grove-based outfit’s first podium since 2017 at Spa earlier this year.
While Mercedes has been the dominant force in the V6 turbo hybrid era, F1 embarks on a new era in 2022 with completely new regulations which are expected to level the playing field and improve overtaking.
The 2022 season gets underway in Bahrain on March 20 before heading to Saudi Arabia.
Before the season starts, two tests will take place with the first in Barcelona before the teams head to Bahrain ahead of the opener.
In terms of its rivals, Ferrari has confirmed that it plans to launch its own 2022 challenger in mid-February.
