Aston Martin shakedown all-new F1 2022 car at Silverstone
Aston Martin launched its all-new AMR22 car on Thursday afternoon, becoming the third team to show off their new car.
The AMR22 features a slightly revised livery compared to its predecessor, with the iconic green prevalent throughout.
Unlike Red Bull, who opted to unveil a show car, Aston Martin launched something closer to what we will see come the first race in Bahrain.
The Silverstone-based outfit will be hopeful of an up-turn in form after a lacklustre 2021 campaign where it finished seventh in the championship.
Sebastian Vettel scored the team’s only podium of the year at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, while Lance Stroll failed to hit the heights of his teammate, but was a more consistent scorer.
The pair took to the track at Silverstone to shakedown the car for the first time.
It’s the first time a 2022-spec car has taken to a grand prix circuit ahead of the new season.
Aston Martin chief technical officer Andrew Green says the team was keen to shakedown the car before testing to identify any potential issues ahead of the Barcelona test later this month.

McLaren is the next team to unveil its new challenger - launching it on Friday evening at the team’s base in Woking.
AlphaTauri, Ferrari and Mercedes will show off their new cars next week.
Alpine will reveal its blue and pink car two days before testing on February 21.
Alfa Romeo has opted to officially launch its new car after the Barcelona test, although it will run it with an interim livery.
