AlphaTauri presents AT03 F1 car for 2022 season
AlphaTauri launched its AT03 on Monday morning in an online launch from the team’s base in Faenza.
The new car maintains a similar colour scheme to its predecessors with a mix of white and blue.
With just nine days until pre-season testing, AlphaTauri is the fifth team to launch its 2022 challenger.
Haas was the first team to do so with it releasing digital renders of the VF-22, while Red Bull chose to unveil a show car on Wednesday.
Aston Martin and McLaren were the first teams to reveal genuine 2022-spec cars with the former taking to the track in a shakedown at Silverstone.
Pierre Gasly will remain with AlphaTauri alongside Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda.
Gasly enjoyed his best year to date in terms of points scored in 2021, securing ninth in the drivers’ championship.
The Frenchman’s fine form handed AlphaTauri sixth in the constructors’ championship, just missing out on fifth to Alpine.
Tsunoda struggled during his rookie season but showed flashes of brilliance, scoring points on his debut in Bahrain and finishing fourth at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
AlphaTauri’s close alliance with senior team Red Bull will likely mean it will once again sit comfortably in the midfield in 2022 with an ever-impressive Honda power unit.
Williams will launch its FW44 on Tuesday, while Ferrari will take the covers off its F175 on Thursday.
Reigning world champions Mercedes’ W13 will be shown to the world on Friday.
Alpine will be the penultimate team to showcase its car on February 21, two days before testing in Barcelona.
Finally, Alfa Romeo will run an interim livery during the Barcelona test before revealing its 2022 colours as part of an official team launch on February 27.
