Toro Rosso ran Pierre Gasly in the morning session followed by Brendon Hartley in the afternoon session, while Force India ran Esteban Ocon in the morning and Sergio Perez in the afternoon. Sergey Sirotkin tested for the majority of the day for Williams with Robert Kubica returning to track action for the final two hours of the day. McLaren were permitted to run two cars after cancelling its private Pirelli tyre test in Brazil due to security concerns with Lando Norris completing a blind tyre test.
