Pierre Gasly: Best driver of the 2020 F1 season?
Pierre Gasly's remarkable turnaround in the past 12 months has seen him forge a path to redemption in F1.
The Frenchman has been one of the standout drivers of the 2020 F1 season so far having translated his brillaint end to 2019 into the new campaign.
Gasly has managed four points finishes for AlphaTauri this year and has also claimed the team's only Q3 appearances of 2020. A stunning charge to eighth place in last weekend's Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps earned him the 'driver of the day' accolade.
His sublime recent form, coincided with Alex Albon's struggles at Red Bull, has seen his name linked with a possible return to the Red Bull team next year, or even as soon as this season, though Gasly has remained tight-lipped over such a scenario.
“I think now we are in a much better position because we know what didn’t work, so I don’t think we would make the same mistakes if we are to do it again," Gasly told Crash.net when asked if he would feel in a better position should he be called upon again by Red Bull.
“There is unfinished business with them - I think we both know it.”
In our latest video, we consider Gasly's rollercoaster 12 months and evaluate whether he has been the standout driver of the 2020 season...
