Open: Legris to make return at Jerez
British driver Jonathan Legris is to make a return to the European F3 Open Championship at Jerez having been forced to miss the last four meetings.
Legris has been given the chance to join the De Vilotta Motorsport team for the event due to illness suffered by Samuelle Buttarelli - which could also give Legris the chance to contest the season finale in Barcelona.
Despite being out of action for four months, Legris remains in contention for third place in the championship standings and will hope to repeat the performance he put in last season at Jerez, when he took second place despite being at the wheel of an eight-year-old car.
"We tested here at the start of the year, and on old tyres we were extremely quick so as long as I feel comfortable in the car, I'm sure we can get a podium or two," he said. "I have nothing to lose. I can't win the championship but I can snatch third at this race, and after the season I've had, it would be the best result.
"The drivers ahead of me in the championship have done the whole season and they have a lot more to lose."
