Li Zhi Cong returns to Carlin in EURO F3
Li Zhi Cong is set to return to former team Carlin in the 2016 FIA European Formula 3 championship.
The Chinese driver made his EURO F3 debut with Fortec Motorsports last season but failed to score a single point with a best result of 19th place.
Li has re-joined Carlin for 2016, the team he competed in the British Formula 3 championship and notched up three rostrum results. Li will partner the already announced Ryan Tveter and Alessio Lorandi in Carlin's EURO F3 line-up and is thrilled to return to the British team.
"I'm really pleased to be back at Carlin, it's a great opportunity for me to build on my first season and aim for strong results in my second year of the FIA Formula Three European Championship." Li said. "I'm sure that as ever, there will be a lot to learn over the season but I'm pleased to be learning from one of the most experienced teams in Formula Three and looking forward to the upcoming year."
Team boss Trevor Carlin has welcomed the Chinese driver back with open arms and is keen to help him continue his development in the junior series.
"We're delighted to welcome Peter back to the team for a season in the FIA Formula Three European Championship; Peter knows the team well and we're pleased to have him back on board," Carlin said. "We know from previous seasons together that he is a hard working driver and we're looking forward to continuing that relationship over the course of his season."
