Prost Grand Prix today confirmed that it would be entering partnerships with teams in Formula Three and Formula Renault for 2001 in order to develop new talent.
The French Formula One outfit will team up with former Benetton-associate RC Motorsport to contest the British Formula Three series, running drivers Nicolas Kiesa and Ryan Dalziel. Kiesa enters his second season of F3 after dominating in British FFord in 1999, and stays with RC after breaking its winless streak in the UK last year. Dalziel graduates from the highly competitive British FRenault series - which spawned new F1 talent Kimi Raikkonen - after finishing as runner-up last season.
The Italian-based Cram Competition team will form the lower rung of Prost's new ladder, taking part in the Italian and European FRenault championships with a driver line-up to include Brazilian Paulo Bueno and Italy's Fausto Ippoliti, Alessandro Vitacolonna and Ronnie Quintarelli.
Both Prost Junior Teams will receive technical support from Prost Grand Prix, and will benefit from the team's marketing structure. By forging these new alliances, the team continues in its strategy of developing talented young drivers, aiming at helping them grow progressively and move closer to the goal of Formula One.
Prost will also continue to be involved with the F3000 team run by Apomatox boss Dominique Delestre, and further details of the team's line-up are expected shortly.
