Anthony Davidson emerged as 'King of the Castle' Combe circuit on Sunday, when he dominated the Formula 3 Green Flag Championship.

In the opening race Davidson, still driving his unsponsored Carlin Motorsport Dallara/Mugen Honda F3 car, tracked his Honda supported team-mate and current Championship leader, Takuma Sato, around the opening lap from his second on the grid starting position.

However, at the end of the opening lap Anthony pulled off an audacious move on the flat out Camp Corner to take the lead. From that moment on, Davidson was able to open out a 7-second advantage as he powered his way towards the chequered flag.

The second race this afternoon saw Davidson start from pole, from where he made a quick start to lead the opening laps. Even the intervention of the safety car was insufficient to upset the leaders equilibrium.

On the re-start a couple of laps later, it was apparent that Anthony was more prepared, as he opened out a quick advantage to dominate the race to the finish. He was over three seconds ahead of Sato when the chequered flag came out, and with these two victories from Castle Combe today, Davidson has now moved into third place in the Green Flag Formula 3 Championship.

"It has been just unbelievable," was Davidson's comment after the second race. "It was very hot out there and I pushed hard from start to finish. It has been the perfect car, perfect day, perfect track, perfect team!"

To complete his day, the Carlin pilot was later awarded the Castle Combe "Driver of the Day" trophy, before then hearing he had set the outright circuit lap record of 111.43mph, when he set the fastest lap of the race at 59.75secs.
