The 23-year-old Paris based Promatecme UK Driver was able to match pole sitter Takuma Sato's start - to make up four places off the grid - and a further three into copse, where he latched onto the tail of reigning German F3 Champion Andre Lotterer.
Able to match of the Jaguar F1 test driver pace Jouanny started looking for a way to pass him, "I was able to get passed Lotterer on the pit straight to take 6th place" recalls Bruce.
His next target was Derek Hayes - who has been Jouanny's nemeses all season.
"I got right up close to Derek - but he slammed the door in my face and we touched, causing me to lose momentum and slip back to 7th" which was where he would finish, having made up seven places from his fourteenth place on the grid. "I really had fun today, the atmosphere was awesome" he concluded.
Takuma Sato won the race from teammate Anthony Davidson.
