FFord champ Dahlgren inks F3 deal.

After weeks of speculation, reigning UK Formula Ford champion Robert Dahlgren has signed with for Duma Racing for this year's British Formula Three Championship.

The Swede, who clinched last season's Formula Ford crown on the final lap of the season, will drive for the Peter Berry-led team which enters its second year in the BRDC British F3 Championship. The deal also confirms the presence of Duma on the grid, after it was speculated that Berry's involvement in the new Dave Brodie-led Valiant squad could spell the end of the sophomore outfit.

"The choice of team is crucial," Dahlgren said, "We have had a great deal of support from Duma, and it has taken an enormous amount of work with both our UK and Swedish sponsors. I believe Duma has an unique operation that will be dedicated to giving me the best chance of getting the best results."

Duma's team principal is looking forward to working with his new signing, having been won over by both his FFord form and F3 testing pace.

"Robert has impressed me enormously - I believe he has the talent to win in Formula Three and beyond," Berry said, "He has speed and, last season, showed that he has good tactical sense. His technical feedback was excellent during his test, and I think he will be a real asset to Duma this year."

Dahlgren will be one of a small band of drivers using the new Swindon-Ford engine in this year's championship, joining the expected Motaworld entry on the grid when the season kicks off at Brands Hatch on 1 April.
