The Marlboro Masters brings together the cream of European F3 drivers for the race at the famous Dutch track, and no less than 47 drivers challenged for 38 places on the grid. However, the race was run using Kumho tyres, which presented a new challenge for the British teams. Under those circumstances, qualifying proved tough for the Promatecme pair, with Jouanny taking 20th place on the grid and Gilmore qualifying 25th.
In front of a massive crowd, the Promatecme drivers passed car after car during the race as they charged up the order.
Starting from well down the grid meant that they faced an uphill task, but their speed and determination in fighting up the field earned them widespread praise. During his charge into the top ten, Jouanny overtook British F3 title contender James Courtney.
Now, the Promatecme team has only a couple of days back at base before heading to Oulton Park on Thursday ready to test ahead of the next round of the Avon Tyres British F3 Championship over the weekend of 17/18 August.
After a four-week break, the action resumes at the challenging Cheshire track, starting a sequence of races that has the final four weekends of the season packed into a six week run.
