Watts Linkage: Silverstone beckons.
The only driver racing with a British chassis in the British Formula Three championship is BRDC-backed Danny Watts. With currently only a partial campaign for this season, and after missing the second race at Donington last time out, Danny has all to go for this weekend at the home of the British GP, Silverstone.
Crash.net caught up with Danny heading to this weekend's race action.

Danny Watts
Apart from the big disappointment with the crash we made reasonable progress although we weren't at the front.
Crash.net:
What did you and the team learn at Donington?
DW:
Between the first and second qualifying session we found four tenths in the car, and that's a massive amount to gain, so we're learning about the car all the time.
Crash.net:
What was it like having to watch the second race, and what did you think to the entertainment on track?
DW:
We didn't go for the second race of the weekend, as we wanted to be 100% for this weekend and I went home and didn't stay to watch the second race, I was a little bruised and battered and it's hard watching a race that you're supposed to be in.
Crash.net:
What are the main differences you have noticed between the Lola and the Dallara?
DW:
The Lola's definitely different to drive, but it's difficult to explain exactly how. Every change we make certainly makes a difference to the chassis, it responds well, we just need the time to develop it.
Crash.net:
What's your current F3 programme?
DW:
Budget is currently for the programme to run up to and including Knockhill. Geeting a budget together has been really hard, Lola, Promatecme and myself are all working very hard on that. It's a great opportunity...
Crash.net:
Looking forward to Silverstone?
DW:
I'm really looking forward to Silverstone this weekend. It's my home track, I work at the Drivers School and I'm backed by the BRDC. Lola is based in Huntington so they're local too. It's a big weekend and I'm really excited.
Crash.net:
Who do you see as the main contenders this weekend?
DW:
Quite a few drivers should stand a good chance if they have a good day, but I'll be concentrating on my own game.
Crash.net:
Predictions?
DW:
Two poles, two race wins and two fastest laps is what I want as I spend more time at Silverstone than I spend in my own home!
Word has it that Danny will have quite a backup crew this weekend at Silverstone so get down to the venue of the British GP to see some of the most exciting racing in the UK at the home of British motorsport.
