Kane pole at Mondello.
British F3 International Series driver Steven Kane has obviously benefitted from his spell at the wheel of a GT car when he came second in last weekend's Silverstone 24 hour race as he has set pole for the first race of this weekend's British F3 action at Mondello.
Kane benefitted from the presence of the red flag at the halfway mark in the session as Mark Asmer added to the woes of Hitech Racing who are down to one car this weekend with Tim Bridgman having been injured before the weekend by a fire.

Asmer went off the track with just two laps completed and will start the first race from the back of the grid.
Kane meanwhile was the fastest man when the reds went out and was not displaced when the rest of the session was run, meaning teh Promatecme Lola driver's second pole position of the season.
Champion Alvaro Parente joins Kane on the front row, with the Carlin driver soon on the times, whilst his team-mate Charlie Kimball and Fortec's Mike Conway making up the second row.
National class pole was taken by Charlie Hollings, meaning a double Promatecme Lola effort in Ireland, whilst Salvador Duran and Jonathan Kennard were next up.
