BRM trio ready for Oz F3 showdown.

Team BRM has confirmed the three-car line-up that it hopes will take it to success in this weekend's penultimate Kumho Tyres Australian F3 Championship round, which supports the A1 Grand Prix of Nations event at Eastern Creek.

Former race winner Ian Dyk will join Neil McFadyen and Jason Vince in a three-pronged attack that gives the Adelaide-based team one of its best 'all round' line-ups of the season.

The conformation of Dyk, who has been competing in the national Porsche Carrera Cup championship with Greg Murphy Racing, comes after former Australian F3 champion Karl Reindler was forced to withdraw from the weekend due to a potential career opportunity elsewhere that proved too good to refuse. Dyk has 16 F3 stats to his name, making his Australian series debut with Team BRM at Wakefield Park in late 2003. Ironically, he replaced an injured Reindler at that particular meeting...

Since then, Dyk, who will drive the #4 Gawler Farm Machinery Dallara-Speiss, has gone on to record three race wins and nine podiums before making the step to the Carrera Cup this season. He currently sits tenth in the Porsche championship, after notching up a top four finish in the competitive one-make series on the Gold Coast two weeks ago.

"I am absolutely over the moon to be back in F3," Dyk enthused, "I've been racing in the Carrera Cup this season, and it's been an absolute ball, but It's been so long since I've been in a 'wings and slicks' open wheeler and I just love them. It's great to be back with Team BRM and I cant wait for the weekend!"

McFadyen, the 2004 Gold Star champion, will return for a second bite of the F3 cherry at Eastern Creek after making his series' debut at Phillip Island in August. It was a baptism of fire from the quietly-spoken Sydneysider, but a solid fourth in the opening race was backed up by a strong podium in the second - all despite the driver not having tested before the weekend.

And, although he hasn't had any miles in the car since the Phillip Island outing, McFadyen has been kept busy racing a Mazda Sports Sedan with some success since his last F3 drive.

Rounding out the three-car attack is F3 rookie Vince who, despite being a former national karting champion, will make his first Australian F3 start at Eastern Creek after completing two test sessions driving the team's #3 Dallara F301.

Despite not having any F3 race experience under his belt, BRM feels that Vince will be a strong contender at Eastern Creek after completing over 100 laps of testing in preparation. Indeed, team owner Bronte Rundle said that he was confident that the team's three-car attack would be capable of producing results at the prestigious meeting.

"I think we have a very strong team assembled for what will probably be the biggest meeting of our season," Rundle said, "Ian Dyk made his debut with Team BRM back at Wakefield Park in 2003 and we are delighted to be able to secure him for this event at the last moment. Neil has proved his skill in these cars with the strong results he achieved at Phillip Island, whilst Jason has been strong in testing and we are looking forward to seeing his F3 debut at Eastern Creek this weekend.

"This is going to be a great weekend for Australian F3 racing as a whole - we are going to put on a great show and I'm really confident that the three Team BRM cars will be right at the front."

A 26-car field has been nominated for the event, making it the biggest F3 field ever to take to the track in Australia. First practice gets underway on Friday morning, before qualifying on Saturday and two races on Sunday.
