As a result Tung now heads the championship table, after his third victory this season, from Germany's Nicolas Hulkenburg and Britain's Joey Foster.
The JB Motorsport driver started the weekend in fine form winning Saturday's race with a faultless performance from pole position and followed up his sterling run on Sunday, by running second and eventually inheriting the lead from Foster who had to retire with a broken driveshaft.
"I was running in second place behind Foster when his car failed," said a delighted Tung. "Last year I had a transmission problem in the warm up lap and was very disappointed, but today I am glad that it was Foster and not me again. I am happy to win two races in one weekend and leave the Lausitzring with 21 points added to my championship tally."
Tung's team boss Yves Olivier was delighted at the double win, especially as the Chinese driver's team mate Ferdinand Kool made up for a poor first race by claiming third in Sunday's run.
"It can't be better, the result is very good," said a delighted Olivier. "Nevertheless we will develop the car furthermore to be on the same level like the top teams in Europe at the end of the season. For the next race we will get some new development parts, so it looks good."
