Kimball set to renew rivalries at Pau.

Despite moving on to the F3 Euroseries, Charlie Kimball will get the chance to renew old rivalries this weekend when he takes part in the third round of the Lloyds TSB Insurance British F3 International Series.

The American, who finished second to Alvaro Parente in the British championship standings last season, will be joined by Signature team-mates Guillaume Moreau and Romain Grosjean for the two races at Pau as the French team takes the chance to compete on home soil in a guest capacity and take the fight to the established British F3 runners.

"I'm doing Pau as a guest driver in the British F3 series and I'm looking forward to doubling my street race experience before we go to Norisring later in the year and hopefully go to Macau at the end of the year," Kimball told Crash.net

"It'll be interesting as we don't know the tyres but the team knows the circuit as they ran there last year - but then again they haven't run on Avons. It'll be an interesting mix to see how the European Mercedes engine stacks up against the British field and for me, having never been there, I'll be learning all the time and the more laps I can do in practice the better."

The Pau race comes before Kimball returns to British soil for the next round of the Euroseries at Brands Hatch and he said he felt that competing on the challenging street circuit would help him in the run-up to the two races in Kent next month.

"I think the experience of Pau will help me get ready for Brands Hatch, help us develop the car and improve the relationship I have with the team," he said. "When we get to Brands Hatch we'll have another race under our belt compared to the other teams and I think that can only be an advantage."
