“I am really happy to be joining Prema for the 2018 season,” Zhou said. “The last two years of work have paid off for me and the team has been successful too, so I’m looking forward to a great year together, I feel more than ready for the coming season.”
The 18-year-old becomes the fourth driver confirmed of the five-car Prema line-up for the upcoming season and will partner Marcus Armstrong, Ralf Aron and Robert Shwartzman at the Italian team.
“We are delighted to have such a talented driver in Zhou who will be staying on with the team for 2018,” Teddy Yip, team owner, said. “A member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, Zhou had an excellent run at the Macau Grand Prix last November which will bode well for him in the season ahead. I look forward to seeing the stellar performances we know he can provide.”
