Giovinazzi confirmed for maiden Formula E test in Marrakesh

Ferrari Formula 1 youngster Antonio Giovinazzi will get his first taste of Formula E machinery next Sunday after being confirmed for the Marrakesh rookie test with DS Virgin Racing.

2016 GP2 runner-up and two-time grand prix starter Giovinazzi is without a firm racing plan for the 2018 season after missing out on a Sauber F1 seat, but will hit the track at the Circuit International Automobile Moulay el Hassan as part of Formula E's test day.

Formula E confirmed the full entry list for the rookie test on Thursday morning, with Giovinazzi joining a host of names already confirmed to be taking part including Nyck de Vries, Paul di Resta and Pietro Fittipaldi.

Mercedes factory driver and long-term F1 tester Gary Paffett will also feature in the test for Venturi, while Renault e.dams will field Nissan youngster Mitsunori Takaboshi.
