Biaggi named Venturi Formula E ambassador

Six-time motorcycle world champion Max Biaggi has become an ambassador for the Venturi Formula E team and electric vehicle manufacturer.

Biaggi, 46, got the chance to sample a Formula E car for the first time in Rome last weekend, driving the championship's season one demonstration car around the streets of his home city.

The two-time WSBK champion and four-time 250cc title winner has now been named as Venturi's ambassador, and will appear with the team at major events.

Biaggi, 46, got the chance to sample a Formula E car for the first time in Rome last weekend, driving the championship's season one demonstration car around the streets of his home city.

The two-time WSBK champion and four-time 250cc title winner has now been named as Venturi's ambassador, and will appear with the team at major events.

"I have great affection for Max. He’s open, determined and passionate, just as he was when I first met him," Venturi president Gildo Pastor said.

"I see myself in him. It is an honour for us to have him wear the Venturi colours. Undoubtedly, his presence at our side will help us in our growth process.”

Biaggi added: “I am very happy to start this new venture with an ambitious and pioneer man such as Gildo is. We both have the desire to explore new projects, reaching new targets and go beyond.

"I am looking forward to a productive partnership and to contribute to the ongoing Venturi growth process.”

Biaggi will next appear with Venturi at the Paris E-Prix, taking place next weekend, and will also be working closely with the team's recently-announced young driver academy in the future.
