Vergne: Paris Formula E win the best of my career
Techeetah’s Jean-Eric Vergne has labelled his home Formula E victory at the Paris E-Prix as the best of his career.
The Frenchman controlled proceedings in Paris to claim an emotional win from pole position, a result which moved him 31 points clear in the 2017/2018 drivers’ standings from former DS Virgin teammate Sam Bird with just three rounds remaining.

The Frenchman controlled proceedings in Paris to claim an emotional win from pole position, a result which moved him 31 points clear in the 2017/2018 drivers’ standings from former DS Virgin teammate Sam Bird with just three rounds remaining.
Vergne’s victory in his home city added to previous wins this season in Santiago, where he led a Techeetah one-two and Punta del Este, a race in which he brilliantly held off Lucas di Grassi following a tense race-long battle for the lead.
"What an incredible weekend. To get through to Super Pole and be on Pole Position for the start of the race was an amazing feat,” Vergne said.
“Winning my home race here in Paris is one of the most incredible feelings I have ever experienced. This victory was the best of my career, the car and the team were perfect all weekend long.”
Vergne praised his Techeetah team for executing what he described as a “perfect” race weekend in Paris. The Chinese squad missed out on its second one-two of the season after Andre Lotterer fell to sixth having ran out of energy on a dramatic last lap.
“The pressure was really on for the team when we made the stop, but everything was perfect, from start to finish. Thank you to the team and to the fans who came to support me at home.
"I am really happy with the job we did and rest assured, we will continue to work just as hard for the rest of the season.”
