Calderon sampled a Formula E car for the first time with Techeetah in Saudi Arabia last month before getting a second run-out in the series’ annual rookie test on Sunday.
The Colombian completed 38 laps at the Circuit International Automobile Moulay El Hassan and posted a fastest lap time of 1m17.674, finishing P2 in the morning session and P7 overall for the day, six-tenths off the lap record time.
“Tatiana has had an extremely competitive morning ending up second in the session,” said Techeetah team boss Preston.
“I can’t say anything but how impressed I am with her performance, especially when comparing her sector times with the rest of the Formula E grid throughout this race week, not just today during the test.”
“Today was great fun and it was nice to be back with DS Techeetah for another test. It’s a cool track and the car drives very well here, I got comfortable quickly and set some good lap times to end second in the morning session,” said Calderon.
“I’m proud to have set the purple in sector two and to have accomplished the testing we set out to do today. I think the team will have a great season.”
Calderon is yet to formally confirm her racing plans for 2019, but is expected to make the step up to Formula 2 after spending the past three seasons racing in GP3.
