Formula E 2019-2020 revised calendar revealed

Hong Kong has been taken off the finalised 2019-2020 Formula E race calendar released by the FIA’s World Motor Sport Council.

After the FIA met in Cologne today, the full Formula E campaign has been confirmed for next season with the December round disappearing and the vacant round on 21^st March filled by Sanya. The round will directly clash with the Sebring round on the 2019-2020 World Endurance Championship calendar.

The Hong Kong round has been replaced by Marrakech having been initially left off the 2019-2020 race calendar.

The new Formula E calendar also sees a series of tweaks to the schedule with Jakarta’s first-ever Formula E race set for 6^th June 2020 following the Seoul round on 3^rd May 2020.

The Berlin round will now taking place on 21^st June with New York’s race moving to 11^th July.

It sees the New York round clash with the Norising DTM round next year, causing a direct clash for Robin Frijns and Nico Muller.

"The 2019/20 Formula E championship looks like it will be the closest and most competitive season we’ve ever had in our short history - in terms of manufacturers competing, thanks to Mercedes-Benz and Porsche joining the line-up, and with the amount of incredible capital cities set to showcase the most competitive line-up in motorsport," Alberto Longo, Co-Founder & Chief Championship Officer of Formula E, said.

"Let’s see if we can see an early pecking order at pre-season testing in only a couple of weeks. Season six has well and truly arrived.”
