BMW Formula E team retains Sims for season six
The BMW Andretti FIA Formula E squad has retained Alexander Sims to complete its driver line-up for the upcoming 2019/20 season.
Sims will contest his second FE campaign with a new teammate for season six, after the German outfit drafted in Maximilian Gunther to replace Antonio Felix da Costa, who left the team to join reigning champions DS Techeetah.
The 31-year-old Briton ended his maiden FE season 13th in the drivers' championship, having racked up a total of 57 points as BMW took fifth place in the teams' standings.

Sims rounded out season five on a high with his most competitive showing of the campaign, having secured a maiden pole position and first podium finish in the series at the New York double-header finale in July.
“Formula E is such an exciting and forward-thinking championship on so many levels, and I’m delighted to be competing again this season,” said Sims.
“Having the opportunity to race in a series that pushes boundaries, promotes innovation and sustainable mobility is a real honour, and I’m thrilled that BMW i Andretti Motorsport has again entrusted me with this position.”
BMW motorsport director Jens Marquardt added: “We have an exciting driver duo for our second Formula E season.
“Alexander Sims learned at a rapid pace in his first season, and showed that he can be up there at the front. He was unlucky in some of the races, but he finally celebrated his first podium at the finale in New York. I’m confident that he will be able to build on this in 2019/20.”
