Sergio Canamasas will make another return to the GP2 Series at this weekend's Spa-Francorchamps round, having rejoined Carlin for the eighth double-header of the 2016 campaign.

Arguably one of the most experienced drivers in the field, the Spaniard finished fifth at the season-opening Spanish Grand Prix in May and came sixth on the series' first visit to Azerbaijan, adding to seven top-ten finishes in other rounds.

"I?m very pleased to return to the GP2 Series," Canamasas said, "and it is nice to drive for Carlin again because I don?t think it is a good idea to join another team in the middle of the season. Qualifying isn?t so important at Spa, unlike a good set-up for the race and your pace. Sunny conditions are expected across the weekend and, if nothing strange happens, I feel confident to be competitive in the Ardennes.
