Following the PSM Racingline's very successful first test in Estoril Portugal on the 13 and 14 of February the team have today announced that they have reached an agreement with and signed rising Danish star Nicolas Kiesa to join Tony Schmidt for the teams inaugural season in the International Formula 3000 Championship.
"We are very pleased that Nicolas is joining us in 2002, he is a driver with great potential and we will work very hard to give both him and Tony every chance of success in our first season in Formula 3000. We were very close to reaching an agreement with Dominic Schwager and we will try to help him find another drive in Formula 3000 as his package is developing quite nicely," said Team Principal Siegfried Mueller.
He added: "We expect a very tough season in 2002 as it is our first in this championship and we have a lot to learn, but with Tony and Nicolas we have two very quick drivers and this is most important in Formula 3000 as it is very much a drivers championship."
Chief engineer Rob Arnott was also suitably impressed with the teams latest signing. He noted: "Nicolas was immediately on the pace [in testing last week]. He also has very good feedback and seems to learn circuits quickly, just like Tony - which will be important in their first season in Formula 3000."
"The drivers get on well together and realise it is important to work as one to get the best from the cars and the team so I think we are in good shape for an exciting year".
