AEZ F3000 driver Raffaele Giammaria has been discharged from hospital in Spain following his heavy accident in testing at Barcelona's Circuit de Catalunya on Tuesday.

The second year driver was involved in a ferocious shunt on the first day of the final group test before the season-opening race at Imola next weekend, leaving some fearing that he may have suffered serious injury.

The second year driver was involved in a ferocious shunt on the first day of the final group test before the season-opening race at Imola next weekend, leaving some fearing that he may have suffered serious injury.

However, despite being severely bruised, the Italian insisted that he was well enough to leave hospital and begin the road to recovery at home. There has yet to be any announcement as to whether he will be fit enough to turn out at Imola.
