GP2 delayed as rain hits Turkey!

A rain storm hit the Istanbul track just before 11am local time, just as the GP2 cars were sitting on the grid waiting for the start. The FIA quickly moved to avoid total carnage by announcing a delay to the start of at least 15 minutes.

Although there was a brief shower on Friday, which made the track greasy for a few minutes, none of the F1 or GP2 drivers have any experience of the circuit in wet conditions.

The track is already slippery enough with all the dust that gets blown onto it, and often a new surface is particularly tricky when it rains.
