Ashmore leaves Reynard for Players.
Former Reynard and Lola designer Bruce Ashmore will line up with the Players' Forsythe CART team next season, having been head-hunted to strengthen its engineering capability.
The Briton, who was promoted to the position of president of Reynard's American arm as recently as last year, returns to his roots at Forsythe, where he will oversee the cars of Patrick Carpentier and Alex Tagliani in 2001. The team will use cars built by the Oxfordshire concern next season, so there will be some familiarity for Ashmore, who previously designed Lolas for the CART series.

"Team Players is determined to do everything it can to produce a winning organisation, and Bruce certainly fits into that plan," admitted VP of operations Neil Micklewright, "In a series as competitive as CART, you are always striving to come up with that extra edge, and Bruce's considerable knowledge and track record of success are definite assets to Team Players."
The Indianapolis-based team announced that it would be retaining both Carpentier and Tagliani last week.
