Green stays in US with sideways move.

Speculation that Barry Green would forsake his CART team for Formula One has come to nought following a reshuffle at home that sees him remain as chairman and CEO of Team Green.

The Indianapolis outfit now falls under the control of a committee put together by Green, and headed up by his brother Kim, who is promoted from general manager to the role of president. Barry remains as chairman of the board as well as CEO, with COO Kevin Savoree and vice-president of marketing Carol Wilkins joining fellow VPs Tony Cottman and Kyle Moyer in the steering group.

Like the race team, our management group has shown that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts and I'm sure their expertise will lead to continued success on and off the track."

Green had been linked to a possible management role with the British American Racing operation in grands prix, primarily because of his contribution to BAR driver Jacques Villeneuve's Indy 500 win in 1995. Villeneuve drove for the Forsythe-Green operation in his two seasons in CART, culminating in 1995 PPG Cup triumph.
