Ray injured in testing accident at Miami.
Team Menard driver and 1999 Indy Racing champion Greg Ray was injured in a testing accident at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, on Monday (Jan 29) afternoon.
Ray was transported via air to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. He is described as being awake, alert and in good condition - but has signs of a mild concussion, according to Indy Racing League Director of Medical Services Dr. Henry Bock.

The crash occurred in turn four of the 1.5-mile oval and resulted in the left side of Ray's Dallara making heavy contact with the outside wall. Ray was able to climb from the car unaided. He had completed approximately 40 laps in the windy conditions.
Team Menard is sharing the Homestead-Miami Speedway with Team Cheever for a two-day private test that concludes today (Tuesday).
