Penske honours Gary Buckner.

This coming weekend, Marlboro Team Penske will continue to honour colleague Gary Buckner, who passed away on the Friday between the Homestead and Phoenix IRL rounds.

The team began their commemoration by wearing the initials 'GB' on the right sleeve of their crew uniforms, while drivers Gil de Ferran and Helio Castroneves and their pit crews also wore the 'GB' on their helmets throughout the Phoenix weekend.

Buckner was a member of Marlboro Team Penske from 1993. He was the manager of the fabrication department as well as a member of de Ferran's pit crew, where he served as the tyre man and outside rear tyre changer.

Following the Team's 1-2 finish, Roger Penske, Gil de Ferran and Helio Castroneves dedicated their performance to Gary and his family, and the team decide to continue to wear Buckner's initials on their sleeves and helmets for the remainder of the season.
