CART gets bigger global audience.

The CART FedEx Championship Series will have an even larger audience throughout the world beginning with this weekend's CART Grand Prix of Chicago as series partner Octagon CSI has finalized a deal with FOX Sports International to broadcast live races in five more regions of the globe.

The CART FedEx Championship Series will have an even larger audience throughout the world beginning with this weekend's CART Grand Prix of Chicago as series partner Octagon CSI has finalized a deal with FOX Sports International to broadcast live races in five more regions of the globe.

Octagon CSI has secured non-exclusive rights for CART events through FOX Sports International and will broadcast events in Latin America, the Middle East, Israel, Hungary and the Czech Republic. The remainder of the 2002 CART season will be shown live to those regions through the new deal with this weekend's event from the Chicago Motor Speedway serving as the springboard. Brazil is not covered under this new agreement, but does have live CART coverage through a previously-announced broadcast deal.

Viewers in the UK have had their early season worries calmed after Rupert Murdoch's SKY Sports channel picked up live/as live coverage of the maority of the 2002 season after Eurosport mysteriously failed to continue with their live coverage. Both Eurosport and fellow pan-European digital channel Motors TV show editied highlights of all the FedEx Series races on a one-week tape delayed basis.
