"The new logo is an exciting combination of the brand identities of Champ Car and Skip Barber Racing," said George Tamayo, director of marketing at the successful school organisation, "We at Skip Barber and Champ Car are enormously proud of the Scholarship System which, every year, affords young drivers an opportunity to climb the ladder. This logo will identify those that are climbing it today, as well as those at the top who have benefited from it. We hope that they will wear it with the same pride we have in them."

The $1million Barber-Champ Car Scholarship programme works to aid talented drivers in their quest to move up the Champ Car ladder system up into the Champ Car World Series from the Stars of Tomorrow karting programme, through the Formula Dodge National Championship presented by RACER, into the Barber Dodge Pro Series, and up to the Toyota Atlantics ranks. Every year, more than 45 drivers benefit from the system.

Former Scholarship drivers, including 2002 Barber Dodge Pro Series champion and current Toyota Atlantic driver AJ Allmendinger and Ryan Hunter-Reay, who races in the Champ Car World Series, will also be integrating a version of the logo into their race uniforms.
