PDM file Indy entry for Mayer.

While much of Thursday's hoopla surrounded the four-car Indy 500 entry for Andretti-Green Racing, the IRL IndyCar outfit at the opposite end of the series food chain also submitted their entry for the 87th running of the 'Greatest Spectacle in Racing.

PDM Racing and rookie driver Scott Mayer will bid to qualify for the 87th running of the Indy 500. The team enetered their lone Dallara-Chevrolet for 'The Greatest Spectacle in Racing' on Thursday but Mayer will first have to pass Rookie Orientation at the 2.5-mile Speedway before hecan begin practice.

Mayer, of Franklin, Wisconsin, will attempt to qualify for his first Indianapolis 500 in the No. 18 Dallara/Chevrolet/Firestone entry fielded by PDM. Mayer completed his Indy Racing League rookie test at Chicagoland Speedway in August 2002 and has competed in the first two events of the 2003 IndyCar Series season with PDM.

Mayer's chief mechanic is Paul Murphy and manager is Larry Arnold.
