Jeff Britton, formerly race engineer for Access Motorsports and one of the original members of Greg Ray's IndyCar Series team, has been granted his release by the team in order to pursue other opportunities.
Ray contested the opening round of this year's Indy Racing League programme at Homestead last week, taking a 14th place finish, and credited Britton with playing a big part in getting the Access Motorsports team off the ground.

"Obviously, we're quite disappointed to be losing someone who has meant so much to our young programme as Jeff has," Ray said, "He's one of the original members of our team, and we've had a fantastic working relationship. I felt we performed, on many occasions, beyond the means expected from a start-up, one-car team."
Access plans to announce Britton's replacement early next week.
